Had a great day out at Talke Pits open softbill show!

 

As usual a relaxed, friendly & informative atmosphere with some excellent softbills to be seen.

 

I think @ 90 birds were benched - probably the best turnout you will see anywhere this season!

 

• Best Softbill, Best Champion Softbill, Best Small Softbill:  Alan Lythe with a super Lesser Whitethroat - Well done Alan!

• Best Novice Softbill, Marty P - Very nice Redstart - Well done Marty!

• Best Large Softbill, Best Colour Variant Softbill; John Green - Very good Blue Blackbird

• Best Normal Large Softbill; Robb Brown - Songthrush  ( I was very pleased with this - best from a class of 9 songies & some good normal blackbirds as well)

• Best CYB Small Softbill;  Alan Lythe - Blackcap Hen

• Best CYB Softbill;  Mark Milligan - Very nice Ring Ouzel

• Best CYB Colour Variant Softbill: Ecka Booton - Cinnamon Songthrush

• Best CYB Novice Softbill - Sie Vine - with a very steady starling

 

A huge variety of birds on show - a credit to all who took part
